The Pilates classes I hold are an hour long. We start with a warm up routine and then we progress through various exercises, most of which are on the floor and are done slowly with a lot of attention to detail. Finally we end by stretching out the muscles- this may be traditional stretches or 'yoga style' ones.

With the Pilates exercises I teach you how to activate the core, align yourself correctly and breathe with each exercise. It takes a few weeks to get the hang of it but once you understand the principles we move on to harder exercises. If from here you are ready and feel strong enough we move on to harder exercises.

At the end of your class you should feel relaxed and yet rejuvenated. You should feel more supple and you will be able to keep better alignment of your body, which in turn gives you greater strength through your core and enables your body to cope better with everyday activities.
